Includes extensive workbook and textbook.

How Hypnosis Works

The conscious mind is the part of the mind with which you are most familiar; the part that knows where you are and what you are doing at all times. If the conscious mind cannot see, touch or taste something, then it doesn't exist. Consequently, it is difficult to change unhealthy behavioral patterns by just using the conscious mind.

The subconscious mind works very much like a computer. Once something is programmed into the computer it remains that way until it is reprogrammed. The old programming repeats no matter how much your conscious mind wishes something else to occur, making it difficult to break longstanding patterns such as smoking.

Hypnosis is an "altered state of consciousness," similar to daydreaming or getting absorbed in a good book. During this altered state of consciousness, suggestions are able to bypass the conscious mind and can be fed directly into the subconscious, where they can be readily accepted and acted upon immediately.

Required Course for certification as a HYPNOTHERAPIST. Additional courses needed: Hypnosis II and Hypnosis III.

Enrichment Class: Hypnosis IV
